WKRKC Winter Series: Round 2

Round 2 saw the first running on the standard track layout for the winter series. Overall, 15 drivers were competing over the two weight classes, with 9 Lightweight drivers and 6 Middleweights.

The conditions were changeable with a wet track facing drivers in the first heats but the sunshine quickly started drying out a racing line and by the final heats the drivers were treated to a (Rare) dry track!

RESULTS:

Lightweight

The Lightweight class sees drivers under 65kg competing.

1st: Louis Thornton showed a dominant edge, managing to not just win each heat but also taking the fastest lap in every heat to claim the maximum of 38 points from this round.

2nd: Raff Mitchell put in a great show taking a second place and 4th place finish in his meaningful heats ending up on 25 points.

3rd: Melissa Etherington showed her racing class in her first entry in the winter series, taking a hard fought 2nd place and 5th place finish in her meaningful heats.

Middleweight

The Middleweight class sees drivers 65kg and over race.

 

1st: Jack Goring continued his winning streak also claiming maximum points from his heats. Ending up on 38 points. Jack is laying down a formidable defense of his summer championship win!

2nd: Lewis Harmer claimed second place taking one race heat win and a third place finish. Very well raced considering he hasn’t been about for 6 months!

3rd: Dale Hunt carried on his consistent podium securing run in the WKRKC claiming third spot with a total of 27 points with a second and third place finish in his heats.

Round 3 will be on the 10th of December. Lightweight 10:35 arrival Middleweight 10:50 arrival.
