WKRKC Summer Series: Round 2
The WKRKC Summer Series returned for its second round on the 12th of May, accompanied by some glorious sunshine for our racers. With perfect track conditions, the drivers followed the same new format of one-shot qualifying before each of the 3 heats to set the grid positions. On the day we had 11 drivers competing with many returning drivers and 2 new faces in Caleb West and Jack Kilby.
Results
The results for the WKRKC Summer Series Round 2 are as follows:
1st: Simon Johnstone finished off on the top step of the podium following a dominating display. With 2 race wins and a 2nd place finish going hand in hand with a fastest lap bonus in Heat 3, Simon certainly made a statement during Round 2. He finished the day with a total of 37 points and takes top spot in the WKRKC Summer Series.
2nd: Harvey Yates came in 2nd place for this edition of the WKRKC after a solid day’s racing. A race win and a 3rd place finish was enough for Harvey to take second place with a total of 30 points and move him up into 2nd place overall within the WKRKC. Good racing Harvey.
3rd: Dale Hunt achieved a 2nd and 4th place finish to end up 3rd in the table for Round 2. After a tense battle with Louis throughout Heat 1, Dale finally managed to make an overtake on the last lap to take the 2nd place finish in the Heat.
As always, thank you to all our drivers who took part: Emerson, Max, Melissa, Louis, Angela, Jack, Caleb and Cayden. Everyone provided the spectators with some great racing and individual battles, so well done to all drivers competing.
