Karting Championship Results

Spectators were enthralled with the battles on track!

The island’s karting championship held at Wight Karting, Westridge, Ryde, got underway again Friday the 12th May. A Grand Prix-style race series, that can include any karters achieving less than 37-second laps in adult karts.

Racing Consists of 3 heats being run over the night, drivers had to show their skills in race situations, starting the races from different positions to get a total score based on their two best results of the night.

Portsmouth university student James Dziuba came out on top with 38 points, Mike Jolliffe – local postman, second, with 32. A fantastic 4-way battle for 3rd place came about in Heat 3, 14 year old Harvey Yates put in the fastest lap of the event 34.4 and that clinched his 3rd place score of 27.
