March Open Team Endurance Race

The March Open Team Endurance race took place on Saturday 23rd on a very greasy track after a long day of rain. Although there was no rain during the race, the conditions were very challenging for the drivers taking part thankfully we only had a few driver spins!

We had 6 teams taking part for the March event which saw a mix of new and regular racers battle it out for the Team Endurance crown.

The structure was as standard, with each team having to complete 5 driver changes throughout the 1 hour 30 race. With these changes being decided by the team members themselves it always leads to interesting strategies on display.

During the race we witnessed fierce battles throughout the field with multiple teams fighting for the 3 podium spaces. SCK Racing, made up of Jack Goring and Simon Johnstone took a commanding lead early in the race, however their team did not qualify for a podium place as this was an all-staff team which added another dynamic to the battles for the podium places behind them.

PC Consultants, again made up by Junior Track Day graduates proved to be too quick for the rest of the field throughout the race and formed a small gap to the drivers behind. Both The Wests and Demon Tweeks fought well against Hot Wheels and In Me Mums Kart for the remaining podium places in what was a thrilling evening of racing.

Results:

1st: PC Consultants (Louis Thornton, Harvey Yates and Emerson Riddett) – PC Consultants won the March Team Endurance with a total of 155 laps completed. Well done guys!

2nd: The Wests (Caleb West, Otto West and Cayden Francis) – The Wests took second place on the podium after completing 153 laps.

3rd: Demon Tweeks (Dale Hunt, Lewis Hallett and Dan Kureen) – Demon Tweeks rounded off the podium with 151 laps completed after the hour and a half of racing.

Our next Open Team Endurance will take place on the 20th April and we hope to see as many new faces as possible!
