WKRKC Summer Series: Round 4
We have reached Round 4 of our Summer Series! Last Friday evening we witnessed some intense battling among our drivers as the fight for Championship points heated up towards the business end of the Summer Series. With only a handful of points separating the top 6 drivers in the championship, every position gained was crucial. Thankfully the track was dry for our 10 drivers, despite some showers earlier in the afternoon.
The drivers took part in 3 races, 1 in the normal track layout and the other 2 in our reverse layout, and once each driver had completed their one-shot qualifying lap the racing could start in earnest. Here are the results below of Round 4.
Results
1st: Simon Johnstone put on a dominant display claiming 2 wins as well as a fastest lap bonus. This was the second time Simon has won a round this series, proving he definitely has a claim to winning the entire series. Impressive qualifying from Simon allowed him to take advantage of his starting grid position and take his two race wins, he finished Round 4 with 37 championship points. Well driven Si.
2nd: Louis Thornton took second spot on the podium with 31 points. A race win with a fastest lap bonus couples with a 3rd place finish was enough for Louis to make it on to the podium. Again, a strong qualifying from Louis as he took pole for the second race. That is a top 3 finish for 3 out of our 4 rounds so far in the Summer Series for Louis. Great consistency!
3rd: Harvey Yates was unlucky to end up 3rd with a total of 31 points. This was because Louis had a race win. Harvey had two 2nd place finishes as well as a fastest lap bonus in the third race. Qualifying pace was strong from Harvey, with 4th or higher on the grid for each of the 3 races. Well done Harvey.

The penultimate round of the 2024 Summer Series will take place on Friday 9th August.
