September the 23rd saw the running of our latest Open Team Endurance race. The event sees teams of 2/4 drivers compete in over 2 hours of racing. With thirty minutes of practice followed by an hour and a half long race, this always proves a stern test of fitness and teamwork!
Each team were required to make a minimum of 5 driver changes throughout the final. This is the best Team event Wight Karting runs and allows a fantastic experience for a group of friends or business team.
The racing was incredibly close with positions being swapped regularly, it was very hard to predict who would end up the winner and the smallest mistake could cost any team dearly. In the end the results were as follows:
Rather impressively the top 3 were separated by just over 20 seconds. The average lap times showed just how close the top teams were with only two tenths of a second separating the average laps times of the top 4 teams!
Ultimately though it was JLH Racing who came out on top with team members Jack Goring, Louis Thornton and Hope Wood all driving superbly with no mistakes made throughout and keeping the highly competitive lap times up at all times.
Second place went to last time winners Team Demon Tweeks with Dale Hunt, Dom Clements and Lewis Hallet working well as a team putting in consistent lap times and using great strategy to keep them in with a chance of winning right up to the end.
Third place saw young driver club graduates Raff Bell and Harvey Yates team up with Moke to claim the final podium spot!
Thank you to all teams who entered, it was a fantastic evening of racing and we are grateful for the support. We will be running another Team Endurance Event in October, keep an eye on our socials and your emails for the announcement of the date!
If you enter as a business team you will have the chance of winning free advertising with us here at Wight Karting by being the highest placing Business team! (T&Cs apply)
