WKRKC Winter Series Writeup
Round 3
Round 3 saw the drivers take part in exciting 3 race heats over the event. This time out we were running on the reverse track layout.
Just as the event got underway the heavens opened so the drivers were faced with wet and windy conditions throughout. These conditions always make for interesting and close racing.
RESULTS:
Lightweight
The Lightweight class sees drivers under 65kg competing.
1st: Louis Thornton again showed great pace and a good skill in making overtakes look easy in tricky conditions. Louis ended up with two race wins in his two meaningful heats. Finishing up on 36 points.
2nd: Harvey Yates took a close second finishing on 34 points with one race win and a second-place finish. Harvey also managed to take fastest lap in every session.
3rd: Thomas Edgson raced brilliantly to claim the final podium spot. Finishing on 27 points registering a second and third place finish.
Middleweight
The Middleweight is for driver 65kg and over.
1st: Jack Goring continued his winning streak to 3 in a row for this series, each race saw a good battle for the lead however, with Dale and Jack going into the final round 1 point apart, it was Jack who managed to take a second race victory with the fastest lap finishing up on a perfect 38 points.
2nd: Dale pushed Jack all the way and ended up on 33 points. Taking a race win and second place finish. Jack Manged to take the win away from dale during heat one with a last lap overtake for the win!
3rd: New driver to the track Harry Maynard took the final podium spot for the Middleweight class with a second and fourth place finish. Solid achievement on a track he’s never driven at before and in those conditions!

Round 4 will be on the 14th of January on the standard track layout. Lightweight 10:35 arrival Middleweight 10:50 arrival. (TBC) REMINDER: Driver club members cost £50 per event, standard member £55.
