Young Karting Stars Shine at Buckmore Park
Karting enthusiasts, take note! Rising stars Melissa Etherington, Harvey Yates and Caleb West — all graduates of Junior Track Days—made stunning debuts at Buckmore Park Race Circuit recently.
Competing in their first solo, practice sprint event, Mel & Harvey secured 3rd and 4th place, finishing impressively close to the track record! It was Harvey’s first time racing at Buckmore. Watch this space for updates.
Melissa Etherington: Age 14- A Trailblazer in Karting
Melissa – the only female competitor entered in the Buckmore Junior Pro Summer Championship Series, continues to make waves in the karting world. She consistently sets record-breaking times, regularly claiming the Wight Karting fastest lap of the month. Keep an eye on her progress—she’s a fierce contender in every race!
Harvey Yates: Age 16 – dedicated and focussed.
Harvey and his mum Jo worked hard to gain sponsorship funds from The Propeller Inn, Bembridge and aim to make it go far- always seeking more support you can contact Jo or Harvey through us at the track.
Caleb West: Age 17 with 1 season already under his belt…
Caleb’s inaugural season in karting last year ended in an impressive 4th place – quite a feat so expectations were high this Sunday in his first seniors race: After penalty was applied in the first race he stormed through qualifying to pole position in the second. Clear winner and fastest lap under his belt he’s well set to keep learning and winning this new season- keep an eye on his results from Club 100 HERE.
